Why We Are Named Pema Karpo

Located on seven acres in Memphis, TN, Pema Karpo Meditation Center is a retreat center inspired and guided by the teachings of Nyingma Tibetan Buddhism. The center hosts local and regional practitioners who come for meditation, classes, feasts and celebrations.

Today is a special day for Americans. It is not such a good day for the long life of turkeys and other animals. Please remember all these beings and their kindness as you have your celebrations. Reciting the mantra of compassion, OM MANI PADME HUM, and dedicating the merit to all beings and especially on this day, turkeys, will make Thanksgiving even more meaningful. This is my practice for today.
