Lhasung - Smoke Offering to Remove Obstacles

Sunday, December 26th at 12:00, after the regular service, we will hold a year end ceremony and offering to raise the wisdom energy in our lives and livelihood.

We are coming to the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011. Khenpo Gawng Rinpoche feels this is a very good time to practice Lhasung (Smoke Offering).

Pema Karpo sangha are urged to attend if at all possible. Family and friends are also invited to attend if it would be comfortable for them to do so. Anyone with a sincere interest is welcome.

According to Tibetan culture, this is the time to clear away obstacles and problems in our lives that have occurred by generating compassion and forgiveness, inviting the energy of cleansing into ourselves and our lives, and invoking the power of awakened mind to vanquish confusion and harm.

Before you come on Sunday write down all the obstacles, problems, confusions, worries, troubles, heartaches, or headaches that plague you. Make your list with the understanding that this is a ceremony to remove the confusion and suffering of everyone involved. This list will be burned in the smoke offering fire.

Bring objects important to you, practice materials, and symbols of hopes and dreams you wish to strengthen to carry through the purifying smoke.
